BMW Adv. Driver Training Course 2009 - Level 1 & 2

Postby charles » Tue Oct 21, 2008 1:10 pm

Level 2: Intensive Training

BMW Intensive Training is for drivers wanting to achieve their full potential behind the steering wheel of a BMW car. Shift up to cross-country speed and remain in control of extreme situations by means of confident avoidance maneuvers. Target braking and coordinated 180 degree turns help you optimize your mastery of the vehicle. Controlled drifting prepares you for challenging slaloms and pace car laps on the race track – ensuring you’re always ready to take the ideal line on twisty roads. With this kind of intensive driving practice, you’ll be ready to apply advanced skills on faster roads – and learn just how much driving pleasure you can take.

Duration of course:
2 days with 12 participants per group.

Practice vehicle:
BMW 325i Lifestyle.

Requirement:
BMW Advanced Training or BMW Winter Training.

Location:
Shanghai: RMB 5,000

Price includes:
Theory of driving dynamics, practical driving exercises, insurance, 2 lunch buffets and twice-daily coffee & tea breaks

Remarks:
Accomodation and flight tickets are not included but I think there will be hotel transfer to and from the circuit. (will confirm with BMW China).

Unfortunately all slots for 2008 are all full, we're now booking for the next earliest event in 2009.

Charles will also try to enquire about another Level 1 Course for those who missed the last one, and/or a possible winter driving course in Northern China. The winter driving course alone can give you Level 1 certification.

Those who attended the introductory ///M course... this is equivalent to Level 1 also.

We then need to double-check to see if a Level 1 certificate is indeed a pre-requisite for participating in Level 2.

Stay tuned.

Thanks Charles. But since my friend would like to join one of these training too, and since he never joined M or Level 1, I may go with him in Level 1 first. Unless we can skip Level 1 :-)

Anyway, after the experience in the M training, I think I need badly more training and practice, and Level 1 is a good starting point!

In fact, where could I get more details of level 1, M driving course ...etc? Are they more or less similar to "Advanced driving course" or "Defensive driving course"?

I'm interested in level 1 if it is something new, also depending on the dates. Thanks.

Did you ever join the Audi driving courses in Zhuhai? The course is something similar, but with a lot more track time for our BMW course. Level 1 was very enjoyable, I am sure Level 2 will be even more fun

Yes, I joined the first ADE, also a few defensive driving courses by Honda and others while back in Australia. Would be great if I could join for the level 2 then.

we need to check, but I suspect that BMW would want you to join their own Level 1 first. Anyway it's a lot of fun and you get way more track time than in the ADE event
