Installing Front and rear Camera for 2010 F10 5 series.

Postby cloudpicker » Mon Feb 28, 2011 1:28 pm

Looking to install both front and rear Camera for my 2010 F10 5 series. I am looking for a clean install where i can still use the build-in center display monitor as the camera monitor. Looking for a shop / person that can be referred to.

Any idea, how much will it cost to do the above.

Please feel free to post here or to pm me.
Thanks in advance.

Hi Mate;
There is no way to install aftermaket camera display at centre monItor, according to my bmw salesperson, sorry for that.
Although I got rear built in camera as a $20,000 package, which together with auto tailgate & rear sun blind, I think it is not a big useful option after some 3 months actual usage.
There is no choice when I bought stock car, it must with this package.
Otherwise I would leave those 20k to mod another mod, which will be a great performane or looking.
Anyway, cheers for driving BMW, a ultimate machine!
Enjoy

Thanks hkz4, those navi solutions look great. Gonna get me one for my F07. Do you have any idea about the price? They don't state it on their site.
Can someone please give the address of that navi shop in English, I can't read Chinese.

Hey Guys,

I've just received a quotation from navi.hk.

The GPS with touch screen will be $18K, reverse camera +2.5K and the digital TV +3.5K
Except the Shinco they also offer Mapking, Careland and Sygic Mapdata

Looks like a good price, does anyone remember how much BMW charges for the installation of the Navigation Professional? ~40k?

Now I only need to wait for the GF to spend 20K at LV so I'll have an excuse for getting the GPS ;)

Are you needing the navi? Or just the camera?

If only camera, you can do this in less than 3-4000 hkd. You will need parts and do this yourself. All you need is an interface and a camera, then do your own wiring. It is very easy, not difficult at all.

The shops in HK uses the same thing.

If you need navi, touch screen, and DVD etc, then might worth 20k. Otherwise, I would just save that and spent on a bigger screen! Or even upgrade the iDrive entirely.

Study it and just do it yourself, not difficult at all.
