I did it once but I can't remember how to restore it.

Any expert advice?

When the V1 is powered on, press and hold the knob until the U changes to u.

You can easily get it thru Ebay. I just got one and sent thru by parcel post. It costs about US$480 including postage and arrive about 1 week after payment. Think of the extra US$80 or so over the factory price US$399 as postage and saving the hassle of someone being there to collect for you and bring it back.

Beseides the problem with the likes of Elgrand, can your detector detect the new type of fixed road-side radar at a reasonably "safe" distance?

Their signals are so weak that even the Escort 8500 X50 can only detect them at a distance of 500 yards! I doubt if the V1 is any better.

If you want to test your gear, try the two orange "cages" recently erected at both the northbound and southbound Prince Margaret Road.

Please share your experience.

From my personal experience of using X50, it is way too slow in detecting the signals. I'm talking about the latest model that is claimed to have been tuned for use in the European Union.

I cannot switch to big U on my V1. Brought to audio shop and they said the "push" on the button is malfunctioned. Anyone had this experience?

I followed Tomato gor's guidance, press the knob until it changes from u to U and it works.

Cheers,
